Tasting Andre Brut California Champagne

 Name: Andre
 Variety: Brut
 Region: California
 Country: Unites States
 Year: 2012
 Price: $9.99
Shop/wine critic/winery review: “ The Andre has a nice clear color. With a twist-off cap, you fail to get the pop and excitement of opening a champagne bottle. The bubbles are few but rather big compared to the rest. Overall it is  smooth and pleasant to the tongue. Very drinkable, So smooth and tasty. No burning after taste or plastic-like taste."
My review: First, the sparkling wine was a yellow clear color. It had a plastic twist off cap, so it was easy to seal when unfinished. I thought that the champagne tasted like a soda, it was full of carbonation. I thought it went down pretty smoothly, tasted a lot better than most of the cheap wine that I have had. It had a hint of bitter taste along with fizz. Overall it is a nice drink.
I did not have any food with the champagne.

Shop/wine critic/winery review: “A wine as seductive as they get, with aromas and flavors of sweet peaches, honeysuckle, orange blossoms and ripe pears.”
My review: First, the wine was a golden yellow color. I thought the wine has a strong peachy and grape taste, it was very fruity and refreshing when served chilled. It was a little sparkling and a hint of sweetness to finish it off.

My personal experience with wine thus far in my life

I do not have that much experience with wine, the only wine I have ever had were from grocery stores and gas stations. All of which were under $15, so it wasn't exactly quality stuff. I do enjoy wine a lot from the times that I have tried it. Ocassionally my family will drink wine while eating dinner. I like white wine because I think it tastes sweeter and smoother, especially when it is cold. I strongly dislike wine that is not cold enough or warm. I have had a lot of cheap wine that simply was hard to drink, it is very bitter and has a strong bite to it.

I did not like the taste of wine when I first tried it, I did not understand why people enjoyed drinking it. However, after a few more tries, I learned to enjoy the taste of wine. I first drank wine because it was supposedly healthy for your body, also it tastes better than beer. Liquor was too strong for my taste, so I got wine to sip on at social events and parties. I ended up loving the taste of wine and the different taste of each wine. I have only tried 10 different wines so far, there are a lot of wine that I am very excited on trying. I am specially excited to attend wine tastings where I can drink lots of different wine at the same time.

During this course, I am excited to find out the proper steps to smelling, swirling and tasting the wine. I do not understand the process that takes place in order to produce the wine, so that would be an exciting learning opportunity as well. I think that wine is very interesting because different parts of the world will produce different tasting wine, and in order to gain a better understanding on wine, it is important to try as many types of wine as you can. I am certantly ready to do so.
