Tasting Jam Jar Sweet White

• Name: Jam Jar Sweet White
• Variety: Muscat
• Region: Western Cape
• Country: South Africa
• Year: 2011
• Price: $8.95
• Shop/wine critic/winery review:"100 % Muscat. Soft floral hints add depth to the otherwise straightforward ripe peach and nectarine aromas. There’s a good balance in the mouth, with a nice acidic lift and slightly lime edge to cut the sweetness on the finish and close with the faintest hint of honeydew melons."
• My review: This white wine had strong fruity smells, along with floral and apples hints. I thought this white wine was too sweet, only a little acidic and tannins. Although it was easy to drink, it is lacking a full body and it is unbalanced. My palette does not go well with sweet wines, and this is a sweet wine.

Tasting Entrada Malbec

• Name: Entrada Malbec

• Variety: Malbec

• Region: Mendoza
• Country: Argentina
• Year: 2013
• Price: $5.95
• Shop/wine critic/winery review: "Firm and structured, this is a solid wine, laced with mineral acidity and tight tannins. It has a juicy, blackberry fruit component cutting through the texture."
• My review: This red wine had a very dark red color, it is darker than the average red wine. It smells full of tannins along with berries and oaks. I thought the wine was unbalanced, it was acidic and tannins. Both aspects of the wine were too overpowering for my taste. I did not enjoy this wine very much.

Tasting Vina Borga Borsao

• Name: Vina Borga Borsao

• Variety: Grenache
• Region: Campo de Borja
• Country: Spain
• Year: 2012
• Price: $6.95
• Shop/wine critic/winery review:"Also made from 100% Grenache, the 2012 Vina Borgia was fermented and aged in stainless steel. Its medium dark ruby color is followed by abundant notes of strawberries and black cherries offered in a straightforward, medium-bodied, soft, hedonistic, round style. It is hard to believe a wine this good can sell for $7 a bottle. Enjoy it over the next 1-2 years.    "
• My review: This red wine had a dark purple color, its smells had hints of berries and tannins. This wine had a full body, it was not very balanced and had a hot finish. I did not enjoy this wine too much, it was unbalanced and dull.

Tasting Peter Lehmann Chardonnay

• Name: Peter Lehmann Chardonnay
• Variety: Chardonnay
• Region: Eden Valley
• Country: Australia
• Year: 2010
• Price: $9.95
• Shop/wine critic/winery review:"The 2010 Chardonnay presents subtle notes of spiced apple slices and ripe peaches with hints of freshly baked bread and melon. Light bodied, clean and refreshingly crisp in the mouth, it offers just enough apple and pear flavor concentration, finishing with medium-long persistence. Drink it now to 2014."
• My review: I enjoyed this chardonnay very much, the color was crisp and golden. The body of this wine was full, it had multiple different flavors including hints of apples, oranges and citrus. The finish was soft, the tannins was just strong enough to balance the sweetness. I thought the wine was very well-balanced and I would definitely try it again when I had the chance.

Tasting Protocolo Vino de la Tierra de Castilla

• Name: Protocolo Vino de la Tierra de Castilla

• Variety: Tempranillo

• Region: Castilla
• Country: Spain
• Year: 2012
• Price: $6.95
• Shop/wine critic/winery review: "Mostly Airen with a little bit of Macabeo .Greenish gold. Subtle aromas of mint, lemon and orange, with a hint of honeysuckle. Dry, understated and focused, offering clean citrus and melon flavors and slow-building sweetness. Finishes dry and brisk, with an echo of lemon. As usual, this is an outstanding value."
• My review: This white spanish wine smelled very nice, a bit fruity and some mint aromas. I liked the color a lot, it had a golden yellow aspect. The taste of this wine is not like most white wines, it is a bit sweet and was very dry. It did not have a full body, it was rather weak. I can taste some tannins at the end, but it was not a hot finish. It was pretty easy to drink.
